Frequently Asked Questions

Who is a shaman?

A shaman is a person of power and vision. As a shaman I can perceive the world around me from different perceptual states. I help people see what they can’t sometimes see — the beauty of their lives, the beauty of their life lessons, no matter how painful they can be. I help my clients discover a vision for themselves that they have been missing, the vision that will nourish their soul and that will help them on their soul’s journey.

I assist people during transitional periods in their lives or when they are simply stuck. The map of life has become intractable and overwhelming for them. I help my clients identify what is in the way of living their life joyfully, fully and purposefully, and then we work on removing the obstacles. Once the path is clear, they can discover new horizons, new ways of being and living.

What is the essence of shamanic healing?

First of all, I highly recommend watching an 18-minute video in which my teacher Alberto Villoldo talks about modern western shamanism and explains the essence of the energy medicine that I practice. You can watch this clip here http://siwakinti.com/2011/03/western-shamans/

People come to me with all sorts of intentions — to heal their bodies, their souls, to mend relationships, to find their destiny and realize their soul’s deepest longings. My role as a shaman is to give them the taste of infinity, the place outside of time, where they can experience themselves as whole, where they are not affected by disease, trauma, doubt or fear. It is a very special, sacred experience and it happens on an energetic level. Beyond the chatter of our dominant left-side linear brain. We work together to plant the seeds of change that the person needs in order to spread their wings, shed beliefs that don’t serve them anymore and walk in life with beauty.

What techniques do you use?

I use ancient healing techniques known to healers of the world for thousands of years. They are the following:

Illumination — lifting off heavy energies from the person’s energy body.
Soul Retrieval - retrieval of a soul piece, a vital life force that was lost due to a traumatic experience.
Extractions - removal of entities and energies that attach to a person’s energy field.
Energetic Protections — for walking fearlessly in this world, for being a peaceful warrior.
Death Rites - ceremonies to assist and honor dying or deceased family members, friends, loved ones.
Prayer Bundles (Despacho ceremony) - to honor transitional periods — new beginnings, endings, or when an emergency spiritual intervention is needed.
Energetic clearing of land, homes and offices — clearing spaces of heavy energies, troubled spirits, helping land owners to discover the power of the Earth that is available to them.
Chakra Balancing allows your energy to flow freely and leaves your whole self relaxed and glowing.

What happens during a healing session?
The sessions last on average for an hour and a half. First we have a brief interview, identifying the issue we’ll be working on, and then we move into an energy healing stage, followed by integration work. During the energy work part of the session you’ll be lying down fully dressed on a comfortable treatment table. If this is a distance session, you’d be lying down wherever it is most comfortable, making sure you are not disturbed by anything or anyone.  It is important that I can hear your voice and your breath while you are lying down. After seeing me, give yourself another hour or two to process the shifts that have happened, in peace. Take a walk out in the nature if you can.

What are the common effects of shamanic healing?

The most common results of my energy healing work that I see in my clients  are the following:

-  Joy, a sense of happiness and gratitude for what is.
– A firm sense that everything is going to be alright. Peace of mind.
– Lightness where there was pain, both emotional and physical.
– Coming into right relationship with the people in their life.
– Relaxed body and mind.
– Free flowing life energy, creative force.

Did I forget love? Loving life and everything that there is.

What is Dying Consciously work?
Dying Consciously is a program that I offer to my community and my clients.

We have forgotten how to die in the West. We shuttle the dying off to hospitals where death is considered a ‘disease’ and extraordinary measures are takes to prolong life at all costs. Families do no not know how to come to closure with the passing of a loved one. Many people die in fear, with unresolved issues, not having said the “I love you’s” and “I forgive you’s” that would be so healing for them and their families. We no longer remember how to die with grace and dignity. Dying Consciously provides tangible tools for closure, dignity and peace at the end of a person’s life.

I am available to give talks on Dying Consciously work, as well conduct a one-day seminar that offers the tools for peaceful transitioning of a loved one. For more information you can go to www.dyingconsciously.org
